Canadians Not Aggressive, But How About Passive Aggressive?
So, it’s been said that we have an aggressive culture here in the United States and by comparison, Canada does not. While doing a little surfing I came across a pretty disturbing story about dogs being poisoned in Canada and figured it would be worth a look. I mean, c’mon! You have nothing better to to do except poison a dog? Sounds pretty aggressive to me. All right, so now we need to be extremely vigilant when we take our dogs out, God forbid they pick the wrong stick. Reminds me of that craze about some sick people putting needles in Tootsie Rolls and giving them out to trick or treaters. Do I even have to ask what’s wrong with this? As I mentioned in an earlier post, you have to want to be evil, it takes an effort and that’s pretty scary. Enjoy: Poison
Most dogs eat pretty much most things they can get their mouths on. Daisy May, one of my dogs, has always been pretty good about not eating anything else except for what I give her. On occasion she will look to eat some grass when her tummy’s not feeling so great. My puppy Buddy was a notorious eater of dirt and wood chips when he was a puppy, thank goodness that phase is over. While Buddy has curbed his enthusiasm for eating dirt and wood chips, he hasn’t totally weened himself from the need of chewing an occasional leaf from one of my indoor plants. He doesn’t pull them from the plant, but as soon as he hears a fallen leaf land against the wooden floor he’s the first one on the scene to grab it.
After just putting myself through the anguish of watching one of those television programs displaying cruelty to animals I decided that I would play the theme into the topic of the day. First of all, what’s up with people being cruel to animals, it’s so unnecessary. I mean, while you’re at it, why be cruel at all? It takes an effort to be cruel, you have to actually want it which is the disturbing thing.
I was walking a couple of really cute dogs today when we passed a house with a large dog who was barking furiously at us. The dog was enclosed in a fence barely strong enough to hold itself up, lucky for us, because the screech of his bark held the promise of what we could only be a bite. That got me thinking about dog bites and how important it is do have your pets vaccinated regularly. I came across this article about rabies and some shocking and sobering statistics relating to it. I’m sure that you’ll agree that that rabies is more widespread than we typically give it credit for. Click this link to read the story::
